Fiqh is not to compete with the Messenger of Allah with the statement of an imamRather it is statements of imams that explain the statements of the Messenger of Allah

Ibn Qayyim: Knowledge is: Allaah said, His Messenger said, (and what) the Companions said, there being no variance in this. Knowledge is not that you present a difference imprudently between the Messenger and the view of a fool. Nay, nor is it the presenting of a difference ignorantly Between the texts and the view of a Faqeeh (Scholar) Nay, nor is it the rejection of texts intentionally out of fear of falling into tajseem (ascribing anthropomorphic qualities to Allaah) and tashbeeh (comparing and likening Allaah’s attributes to the attributes of a created being).
ibn al-Qayyim wrote the following important words:كل آية في القرآن فهي متضمنة للتوحيد Every ayah in the Qur’an involves al-Tawheed – bearing witness to it and inviting to it

Sheikh uthaymeen: In linguistic terms, fiqh means understanding; in shar‘i terminology it refers to knowledge of the practical shar‘i rulings, with detailed evidence.

قال الذهبي :العـِلم قال الله قال رسولـه *** قال الصحـابة ليس بالتمويهما العلم نصبك للخلاف سفاهة *** بين الرسول وبين رأى فقيهوقال ابن القيم في النونية :العِـلم قال الله قال رسولـه *** قال الصحابة هم أولو العرفانما العلم نصبك للخلاف سفاهة *** بين الرسول وبين رأي فلان
